Ph.D. students

Candidates for graduate study should apply either through the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB), the Microbiology program in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology (PMB), or the Biophysics Graduate Group.  All three programs allow graduate students to rotate through multiple labs in the first year, providing a diversity of research experiences prior to selecting a lab.  For application information and more details about the graduate programs, visit the MCB Graduate Program, PMB Microbiology Program, or the Biophysics Graduate Group admissions site.

We invite motivated undergraduates with previous experience in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or computational biology to apply for a position in the lab through the URAP program. A minimum commitment of 12 hours per week, spanning two semesters and a summer, is expected. When available, openings for undergraduate research positions will be posted at the URAP web site.
